Brooklyn Baseball Foundry

During our lessons together, our collective goal is to prepare each pitcher to compete at their best and support their opportunities to reach the next level.

Pitching Program

The complete pitching program revolves around five core components: one-on-one pitching lessons, strength training, agility training, arm care, and mobility. The focus of each athlete’s training will be determined and customized based on their initial evaluation, with the goal of building on their existing skill set.

  • During our first lesson, we will collect data from the ArmCare analytic device to assess the overall strength and deficiencies in our throwing arm. We will throw every pitch off the mound, go through drills and get right into some adjustments. At the end of the hour we will discuss immediate objectives for upcoming games, as well as long-term goals for developing our athlete to reach their highest potential.

  • We will learn effective kinetic sequencing through a progression of drills and bullpens. If we can control the body, we will control the baseball! We will simultaneously sharpen a repertoire of pitches aimed at challenging hitters and getting outs. The cumulative effect of our lessons will result in our athlete embodying both a fluid understanding of their own unique physiology and the logic behind their movements. Our ultimate goal is for each pitcher to manifest the full extent of their capabilites on the mound.

  • The main cause of poor mechanics is an unstable foundation. We will focus on activating muscle groups to maximize speed, rotational power, and force from the ground up.

  • Explosive speed training will help us move like true athletes when throwing the baseball. Our objective is to generate speed and force while understanding how strength moves up the chain through stability.

  • Through the analytics of the Arm Care device, we will create a bulletproof plan to strengthen and stabilize our arms, shoulders, and elbows. This is the consistent, non-glamorous work that must be done to ensure we are healthy and ready for each day of training and competition.

  • One of the key factors in pitching with velocity is teaching the body how to pull and rotate from deeper, stronger, and more stabilizing places. Based on body type and anatomy, we will determine areas of focus for each pitcher to enhance their mobility and athleticism.

Throughout my 11-year professional playing career, I experienced tremendous highs and lows. Learning how to deal with adversity and pressure played a huge role in why I made it to the Major Leagues. The mental side of baseball will be ingrained in the work that we do at Brooklyn Baseball Foundry. We will share useful tools and guidance that each pitcher can utilize on and off the mound.
