Pitching Development
My program revolves around five key elements: weekly arm care, body awareness, velocity training, mound work, and mental skills. The focus of each athlete’s training will be determined based on their initial evaluation, and customized with the goal of building on their existing skill set.
Additionally, I highly recommend athletes get in touch with Dillon Cain at Foundry for personalized strength and agility training, which will be another key element in helping them reach their full potential.

We will integrate a weekly arm care routine into our development, to be completed after lessons and at home once or twice a week. Using the analytics from the ArmCare sensor, we will create a personalized plan to strengthen and stabilize our arms, shoulders, and elbows. This consistent, non-glamorous arm care work is essential to maintaining a healthy and powerful arm.

As pitchers, we must posses an intuitive understanding of our body’s mechanics, knowing both how to produce energy and when to unleash it. Through constraint drills and throwing progressions, we will build kinetic sequencing, find consistency in the strike zone, and maximize athleticism on the mound.
-
As we gain better body awareness, we will incorporate rotational strength to build dynamic speed from our core. Through a series of band and medicine ball drills, our mechanics will come to produce explosive power. When we add plyo balls, long toss, and pull downs, we can transform our arm speed to light up the radar gun.
-
We will continually put our effort to the test on the mound, and establish aggressive strategies to attack hitters in the strike zone. A pitching arsenal will be designed for each individual, preparing them to be effective in competition. The ultimate goal is to be prepared, confident, and locked-in for every game.

Baseball is a relentless sport, and it can beat you up from time to time. Learning how to handle adversity and control my emotions was crucial on my path from high school to the Major Leagues. Throughout our lessons, I will share insight and guidance that each pitcher can utilize on and off the field. We will maintain a running dialogue around motivation, emotional regulation, visualization, concentration, and any other relevant challenges that may arise.
